ROYCO 555 was specially developed for use in high performance gas turbine engines developed for SST and Concorde in the mid-1960s. These advanced engines required a lubricant with high temperature stability and extreme pressure load carrying capability. ROYCO 555, then higher operating temperatures

and for the demands of motors with increasing power output, improving loads. It is also designed to provide improved performance in existing engines.

ROYCO 555 was also formulated to meet the requirements of helicopter gearbox and transmission systems.

A high load-bearing oil like ROYCO 555 is essential to meet the load requirements and reliability demands of these systems.

More recently demonstrated this improved load bearing the ability to transmit more power and higher load, with helicopter gearboxes and transmission systems, resulted more reliably, with the need to transmit elaborate handling by helicopter fuselage manufacturers - especially the increased time between repairs

This oil should only be used in applications where synthetic oils are specified or in systems designed specifically for synthetic lubricants.

NOTE: ROYCO 555 should not be used with silicone-based elastomers.
