LOCTITE 518 is a medium strength, general purpose gasket sealant with excellent contamination tolerance. Ideal for use on cast iron, steel and aluminum flanges.
LOCTITE® 518 cures in the absence of air between tight fitting metal surfaces. It is an anaerobic sealing material designed for use on rigid iron, aluminum or steel flanged mating surfaces. It fills gaps up to 0.25mm and acts as a flexible, chemical resistant, non-tear or deterioration seal. The parts are easily disassembled even after prolonged use. Typical applications include sealing tight joints between hard metal surfaces and flanges. It is also used as a gel seal on rigid flanged connections such as gearboxes and engine housings.
